One Brick Court offers up to 6 mini-pupillages once a year to high-calibre applicants likely to be strong candidates for the Bar. Mini-pupillage will last for two days, during which you will have the opportunity to observe any court hearings taking place, review papers and meet with as many members of Chambers as possible. Mini-pupillages are not assessed and are certainly not a pre requisite to an application for pupillage.
How to apply
Chambers will only consider applications from individuals who are looking to undertake a mini-pupillage:
- during or after the second year of an undergraduate law degree; or
- during or after the first term of the GDL/ CPE for non-law graduates.
Applications are made by way of an application form which can be downloaded here. Please return your completed application form to us by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or by post (Chambers of Lord Garnier QC, 1 Brick Court, Temple, London, EC4Y 9BY). The provisional date for the next round of mini-pupillages is the week commencing 8th April 2019. Applications must be received by 31st January 2019.
One Brick Court considers applications for mini-pupillage on merit alone. We welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds and all sectors of the community with the ability and determination to succeed as a barrister. We are fully committed to equality and diversity in both recruitment and the provision of services. The mini-pupillage selection procedure is operated without discrimination, that is to say without regard to sex, race, colour, ethnic or national origin, nationality, citizenship, disability, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, marital or civil partnership status, religion or belief, or age. If you are disabled and require any adjustments at any stage of the mini-pupillage process, please inform us and we will consider making reasonable adjustments.
We will reimburse reasonable travel expenses up to £50.
Pegasus Access Scheme
Chambers participates in the Pegasus Access Scheme, a work experience scheme run by Inner Temple that aims to support individuals from diverse backgrounds to consider a career at the Bar. One place on each of the two mini-pupillage intakes per year is reserved for Pegasus Access Scheme referrals.
