Edward Garnier to speak on the UK Deferred Prosecution Agreement system – 3rd May 2018

Edward Garnier is speaking at a conference organised by Australian law firm, Allens, in Melbourne, Australia, on 3rd May about the UK Deferred Prosecution Agreement system and the failure to prevent regime under S7 of the Bribery Act 2010 as Australia legislates to bring in its own DPA system, a hybrid between the UK and US systems, and a failure to prevent bribery offence under the Australian Crimes Legislation Amendment (Combating Corporate Crime) Bill 2017.  Edward’s speech has been video recorded at Linklaters in the City and will be played at the conference on 3rd May.

On 3rd May he will be in Amsterdam at the 3rd Annual Anti-Corruption and Compliance Summit, making two speeches, “Looking Back and Moving Forward: A Review on Major Investigations” and “Updates and Progress on international settlements under US and UK Deferred Prosecution Agreements and the French Sapin II Law”. France introduced its own DPA regime 18 months ago following a briefing to the Minister for Finance on the UK system from Edward Garnier.
